surrogate

These photographs are a surrogate for my own body’s sensations as I engage with the landscape. Moving through the natural environment consumes all of my senses, and in this relationship I find my own reflection. Branches become the softness with which my own limbs move. Ripples of leaves create a familiar cadence of breath. It is my shared experience with and through the landscape.

These photographs were created throughout the pacific northwest to depict the gentle turning in seasons both in the environment and with myself.
