Canary: What is rich, if not this Life?

“Canary: What is rich, if not this life?” began as several drafted projects that were separate documentations of strained relationships. After visiting and revisiting each project to build upon what was started, I came to the realization that each project was a chapter in the same novel.

The title - in part - references the unsavory practice of canaries being brought into coal mines as early warning signs of danger.

“Canary” is a reflection on personal relationships that are precious and fragile but difficult and tempestuous.

“Canary: What is rich, if not this life?” is an ongoing body of work, 2022 - present.
